Fairykins

Created by the Louis Marx Toy Company in 1962 - Fairykins are "hand painted by artists" plastic figures.  From the Brother's Grimm to Hans Christian Anderson to Mother Goose and even before, fairytales have long been a part of the human condition.  In the early 1960's, the well known Louis Marx toy company decided to immortalize some of the more well known with a series they entitled "Fairykins".  The Fairykins line was a companion line to the company's Disneykins and Tinykins lines.  Fairykins stand about 1" in height and there are 34 different figures. They are exciting because of their very varied packaging formats - from store displays; to individually boxed; to complete boxed sets. The limited distribution run of these figures make them far scarcer than most of the Disneykins and Tinykins.
