Revell/Gowland Highway Pioneers
Before the invention of inexpensive plastics in the 1950s, 'model building'
was a minor activity for the youth of America. The introduction of the 1/32
scale vehicles 'Highway Pioneers' car kits by the collaboration
between Revell & Gowland proved that model building could have mass
appeal. Although the kits were made for just a few years, they would make
way for the boom in military and figure modeling of the 1960's, golden age!
There would be 30 kits in all released - with some models having variations
in box designs/releases.
