Captain Action Ideal 1966 Set Lone Ranger 2nd Issue Blue Purple Outfit

The story goes that when Ideal created Captain Action, they created the box art with a red shirted Lone Ranger - as that was the way he was described on the radio show.  They also produced the actual playset outfit dressed the same. When the TV show aired in color, they realized that version had the Lone Ranger dressed in a blue outfit. Hence, they changed the outfit and released a number of blue outfitted Lone Rangers - and changed the art on the Captain Action box to reflect this. The Blue Outfitted Lone Ranger was short lived and is hard to find.

This listing is for Lone Ranger - Blue Purple outfit set. We're quite sure that these were originally baby blue like most sets - but a scarce few had color shifts over the year. It's actually a fairly scarce version to locate. A complete set included:

• Cowboy Hat, White (faux felt that ages really poorly)
• Belt with Holsters
• Pistols, 2, Brown Grips
• Winchester Rifle
• Boots, Black with Stirrups
