Disney Bone China 1960s Disneyland
Miniature Snow White
Listing is for a Disney Bone China 1960s Disneyland Miniature Snow White.
Shortly after Hagen-Renaker lost their license to make miniature
porcelain figures of classic Disney characters in the late 1950's, Disney
had produced miniatures of inferior quality that were made out of bone
china and were sold at Disneyland. Unlike the Hagen-Renaker figures that
were glued to cards, these bone china figures originally came in window
boxes that resembled a theatrical stage - with faux red tied "curtains"
artwork traversing the edges of the box fronts. They retailed for about $1
each. We're not sure how many characters were produced - but they included
not only characters from Disney theatrical movies (ie Snow White) and also
characters from the traditional Fab 5 (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy,
Pluto) and related, but also figures from the park itself (It's a Small
World) and from then-recent TV shorts (Winnie-The-Pooh). All of these
figures are pretty tough to find today.
This listing is for a Bone China Snow White - from - of course - Snow
White and the Seven Dwarfs.
