1939 Pinocchio Gillette Razor Blades Masks Set of 2 Premium Jiminy
This listing is for an original set of two
premium Pinocchio masks from Gillette Blue Blades - Pinocchio and
Jiminy. Copyright Walt Disney Productions, 1939.
Issued in conjunction with the release of Pinocchio in 1939, a complete
set of masks include:
Figaro
Geppetto
Cleo
Jiminy Cricket (in a early design, different from the film)
Pinocchio
The Gillette Co. presented these Pinocchio masks as a promotion for
their "blue blades" in 1939. The die-cut paper. masks were free when a
package of ten blades was purchased for 49 cents. Each has eye holes and
perforated areas for the nose if pushed out when worn. There is an
advertisement for Gillette blades on the back. The tabs have the free
masks offer, plus the words "1939 Walt Disney Productions."
The masks were distributed in a 12" by 10" envelope which details "10
ways to have fun with these Pinocchio masks."
