As with anything mass produced over time, there were variations in the Joe line when it came to the M-1 rifle that Joe sported. Althought most of his gear had minor variations in terms of style and copyright data, the camouflage, green radio had an incredibly short life - and is incredibly hard to find today. Unique and produced for a very a few months in 1964, they are said to have been found solely on the triple TM carded accessories. There are at least 3 known variations - one with no copyright data, one with a "Hasbro" and copyright and letter "A" molded into the interior top, and one with a "Hasbro" copyright and letter "B" molded into the interior top. Among the scarcest of variations....your early Joe just isn't complete without one!

Item Condition (Specific)

The majority of these that survive all came off a card where Hasbro factory sewed the lid down to display card right through the lid. Removing them from the card often caused large holes and splits. This one is a true PRE-PRODUCTION, SALESMAN SAMPLE item as it possesses NO pin holes on the lid! Scarce!!
