#7000 Army Official Jeep Combat Set - Trailer Hitch Stand

In 1964, the original GI Joe marketing plan was simple.  Sell them the doll...err...action figure :-) and then sell them plenty of outfit/accessories to go with it.  Seems simple today but it was unique in the toys for boys market (but successfully implemented with Mattel's Barbie 5 years earlier) of the early 1960s.  Each item is displayed where it could easily be seen on a store shelf - each one sewn on a card and visible through cello window or seal.  In addition to outfits, Hasbro introduced a few vehicles for Joe to travel in .  The 5 Star jeep was the first vehicle introduced.  In 1965, Sears did an in-store exclusive of the 5-Star Jeep - this version of the Jeep differs from the non-Sears version in the following ways - 1) There is no Moto-Rev motor (even though the cylinder area in the mold for the motor is present). The cylinder area was removed from the mold in 5-Star Jeeps after Hasbro dropped the Moto-Rev sound in 1966. 2) The Jeep does not have hub caps, however it does retain the same first issue tires with the 4-visible holes, as the 5-Star Jeep. 3) No spare tire or spare tire mount. Regular 5-Star Jeeps have a hole drilled through the passenger side of the jeep to fit a tire mount - the Sears version not only doesn't have the mount, but the wall of the Jeep is smooth with no hole drilled. 4) There is no painted "HQ-26" on the front bumper. 5) There's no hose from the Jeep to the trailer. 6) The connection from the Jeep to trailer is just the 1-pin and chain. The two "L" chains seen in non-Sears Jeeps were not included. 7) The box & instructions were altered to account for the aforementioned changes. Since the Moto-Rev option was deleted in 1966, there was no reason for the Sears exclusive, and it was sold in 1965 only.  Each Jeep included the following:
