Betty Boop String Holder 1930's Largest Size 9 x 10 Back before scotch became common place, everyone used to wrap presents and packages with string - and "string holders" became a source of utility and decoration. They each had a recessed area in the back to hold string and a mouth hole to extract the amount of string needed. Many character items were produced. They all are scarce today. This is Betty Boop. She measures about 9" x 10" x 2.5" deep painted plaster. Circa 1930s. This is the largest of 3 known sizes. Thre is a wire hanger in top as made. Rare |
